1966
The Association who had been touring Wales on alternate years since before
the First World War through a domestic dispute within the W.B.A. found
themselves without opponents. This was resolved by holding an independent
tour.
1967
For the final time a W.B.A. team toured against the L&SCBA and
although a verbal invitation was offered for us to tour in 1968 it was
never confirmed.
1968
Inaugural Tour to Wales against the Welsh Private Greens B.A.
Thus as one door closed another opened to
establish the camaraderie that is still evident in this new century with
our annual competition for the coveted "Croeso Cup".
1970
75th anniversary. The Earl of Lonsdale accepted office as Patron.
3000 commemoration lapel badges were
struck.
The Midland Counties Game was played with
14 rinks.
1972
Indoor Section formed, finally getting off the ground, having been muted
since 1966.
1974
Indoor
Challenge Shield presented by Past President Bill Rayment.
1975
Hon Vice Presidents' Fund formed. To help improve finances of the
Association.
1976
The Great Drought and many clubs nearly lost their Greens, through water
restrictions.
1977
Queens Jubilee Year. Association Secretary Eric Crosbie became President
of the EBA.
1979
Greens Insurance scheme started by L&SCBA, 25 clubs joined in first
year.
