1955
Diamond Jubilee. Anniversary lapel badge and a brooch for Lady
helpers designed. Jubilee Dinner saw an attendance of 592 men, with 20
lady guests who sat on separately on the balcony. Eric Crosbie appointed
to represent the Association on the Council of the National Playing Fields
Association, a post he held for 38 years.
1958
Treasurer and war time President Harry Bates resigned after 12 years, only
the third person to hold that office in 63 years.
1959
Association Secretary Sam Walpole made Life Member of EBA
1962
Sam Walpole died in his 35th year of office. Eric Crosbie to over,
initially on a purely temporary basis, which lasted until 1993.
1965
70th Anniversary saw the donation of Presidential Collar of Office
and Association Flag with a 70th year scroll being added to a special
lapel badge.
A "Founder Club" match held at
"Bounds Green" was attended by founder
member clubs: Ilford, Mansfield, North London, Reading, Bromley and
Southampton County and Southampton Old Green.
